Grill Inspection

Per East Haven Fire Code, most Four Beaches units may NOT have grills on their balconies or decks. On September 15, 2021 there will be an inspection of all balconies and decks. Any units not in compliance with the East Haven Fire Code will be reported to the East Haven courts. The East Haven Fire guidelines are listed in the NFPA 1 Fire Codes. The specific codes that relate to grills, which can be found in NFPA 1 Chapter 10, are:

NFPA 1: 10.10.6.1 For other than one- and two-family dwellings, no hibachi, grill, or other similar devices used for cooking, heating, or any other purpose shall be used or kindled on any balcony, under any overhanging portion, or within 10 ft (3 m) of any structure.

NFPA 1: 10.10.6.2 For other than one-and two-family dwellings, no hibachi, grill, or other similar devices used for cooking shall be stored on a balcony.

NOTE: Units 100-200, 103 -203, 112- 212, 113-213, 114-214, 115-215 are exempt as they are two-family dwellings.
